Chinese born Zhang Peng merged his background in painting with his love for photography to create some very eerie portraits, full of drama and theatrics, resorting to intense color use and emotion manipulation. Using mostly little girls as models, he toys with people’s expectations of hope and aspiration usually associated with such young subjects to offer a grotesque view of society’s expectations and perfection ideals.

Long distance love through Flickr
Rosie Hardy, 18, of Buxton, Derbyshire, and boyfriend Aaron Nace, 25, of North Carolina, met through photo sharing website Flickr. They dated online for three months before finally meeting in the flesh. To cement their relationship, they decided to fuse themselves together in a series of pictures, helped by a little computer wizardry. The couple have since managed to spend almost five months together with Rosie visiting America five times and Aaron making two further trips to the UK.
